Issue #5 and #6 came, and the first batch has SHIIIIPPED!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Nov 14, 2019 at 02:14:19 AM

Issue #5 and #6 came in yesterday around 2pm. I spent about five minutes doing a happy dance, and then I got to work signing all the books, then bagging and boarding them.

It's a LOT more work than hardcovers. A LOT MORE, but it got done last night.

Then, this morning I packed up for everybody who didn't get volume 1. My original plan was to ship everything out together, but with the upgrade to hardcover the first volume there is a shipping delay while it comes from China.

The price we all have to pay for a free hardcover first volume upgrade is to wait for a couple of months (hopefully January), before the volumes get into port and to me, and thus onto you. I'm holding the single issues for people who got the hardcovers until everything comes in so I can ship them together. I'm not Lord Pennybucks von Made of money, and can only afford to ship things all together.

However for those that didn't get volume 1, your books are in the mail and you should get an email with the tracking number soon. For the rest of you, I couldn't afford to ship the issues AND the first volume separately, so I'm sorry for that delay, but the reward is an amazing hardcover book for you.

All of you, however, can enjoy a little bit of excitement for my packing journey.

The books arrived when I returned from my walk yesterday. Four huge boxes.
Inside the boxes, there were boxes.
Inside those boxes there were books, but these books had a different cover than the proof.
I started to sign the covers, but it went horribly wrong, and I lost 26 books to smudging.
So while some survived, most are now signed inside to prevent smudging.
It took me a few hours of watching She-Ra season 3 (SOOO GOOD btw), but eventually I had everything bagged and boarded.
Luckily, over the night my tape gun came. For some reason I lost it, even though it never leaves the house.
and so I got to work.
It took all of Aladdin (thank you Disney +) and about half of The Great Mouse Detective, but I finished packing this morning.
Packed everything in my car.
And brought it to the post office.
And off into the world they go.

I actually don't mind packing, except for the massive leg ache and back pain for sitting in the same position for hours. There's plenty of stuff to catch up on and I can zone out.

So much of my life is making decisions, and packing is just repetitive monotony. There's a logic to it. You put a book in. You place in a label, and then you ship. I wish more things in my life had that type of simplicity.

For the 185 of you who ordered the first volume, you will get them sometime in January/February. I'm sorry to have to wait, but I hope you're not too mad at me. After all, you're exchanging a couple of months for a beautiful hardcover book you can treasure forever.

For the rest of you, please let me know what you think.

Proof video for issue #5 and #6
over 4 years ago – Sun, Oct 27, 2019 at 03:01:07 AM

Happy Saturday,

Yesterday I got the proofs for issue #5 and #6, so I made a video to share it with you.

https://www.facebook.com/russell.nohelty.7/videos/10108564809030898/

They both look AMAZING and I can't wait for you to have them in your hands. I'm not even a huge fan of single issues, but these ones are super nice.

The printer did an amazing job. If you still haven't done your Backerkit survey, or you can't find it, you can get it resent to you here.

Surveys are out + unboxing video
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 24, 2019 at 02:21:39 PM

Alright, let's try this again. The surveys just went out through Backerkit, which means once you finalize your survey you should have access to all the digital files.

The survey will go to your Kickstarter email address and be from BACKERKIT, not KICKSTARTER.

Please make sure your order is correct, and you have received all the items you ordered. I am very thorough, and I have checked these a dozen times, but it's possible I just...missed something, even with all my checking and double checking.

Also, the proof for the first volume came! If you want to see the unboxing video, here is a link.

The digital files should be there when you finish your survey, but just in case you close out the window, here are the instructions again to download them.

STEP 1: Log into your email and find your survey confirmation. If you type in survey confirmation Backerkit Russell or survey confirmation Cthulhu Pixie, you should be able to find it.

STEP 2: Scroll down.

STEP 3: At the bottom, there is a unique link to get back to your survey. Click it.

STEP 4: That link will take you to the survey confirmation page. In the middle left of the page, under your shipping address, there will be a link to download your digital files if you received any. Click it. (FYI: If you need to change your address, you can do it here.)

STEP 5: BOOM! There they are.

Let me know if there are any problems. In order to load any books into your Kindle, please follow these instructions:

Thank you so much for your patience. Sorry for the hiccup last week, but it should be sorted now.
